Rescue dog of an ascot- a few q's from a new owner
« on: September 30, 2016, 12:46:11 pm »
Hey I got a sweet hot pile of an ascot through a trade deal a while back and I'm starting to finally go through it, I got the thing to choke on some fuel and fire up so I know it'll run decent with a little love.

My main question for yall is regarding the rear brakes, I have a rotor, that's it. The caliper is gone and from the looks of the Internet, everyone else's are too because there's none. Does any other caliper mount up easily, maybe an xr or something?

Also I was wondering about the battery tray- I want to take the big ol airbox out and put the slip filter on so I can ditch the side covers, has anyone made a under-seat tray / battery tuck with advise? Or I was thinking just re locate the leads and carry a small Booster back as a battery.

Any tips on relocating the handlebar fuses to put better bars on? I'll try to post a picture of this heap soon, the forum isn't letting  me now.

Rear Caliper - There is some interchange. You will need to perform some research.

Battery Box - Will require some level of fabrication.

Fuses can be replaced with inline fuse holders & tucked inside headlight bucket. OEM fuse holder need not be removed to replace bars.

Pictures must be sized appropriately (no more than 500kb each) to post.

All these questions have been answered in many posts & are available by performing a search & reading.
