Title: Problems with Neutral and OD Lights
Post by: twerth on August 23, 2016, 08:47:14 am
I'm currently experiencing problems with these two indicator lights, and I suspect they may be related. Wanted to see if anyone has run into this before and maybe save myself some time trouble shooting. The neutral light comes on whenever I pull in the clutch lever. The over drive light just doesn't come on at all. Looking at the wiring diagram, these two circuits share some wiring, so maybe one bad spot is causing the problem for both?

I used to have a Honda ACE Tourer that had the neutral light problem. It turned out to be a bad diode. Maybe the rectifier serves the same purpose for the Ascot? Any input is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I replaced the rectifier (diode) and now have a properly working neutral switch, but my OD indicator still doesn't work. It could be as simple as a burned out bulb, so I'll check that next.

The OD light turned out to be a bad bulb. Easy fix but a little tough to get to. Checking things off my to do list in short order. It won't be long and I'll be ready for paint!

I replaced the bulb with a good one, but the light still doesn't come on. I'm assuming it's operated by the same switch as the neutral light (which works). Is this correct? Wiring between the two looks good, but I haven't started testing. Any advice?
