Title: Engine and tranny swap
Post by: Billzebub on March 22, 2016, 03:20:26 am
Hey there. I'm new to the world of motorcycles and I've acquired an 83 ascot recently. The engine is completely siezed, but the tranny appears to be fine. I haven't been able to find a new engine with in a 300 km distance(the closest one is a 14 hour drive). I've done some research and found out that the engine from 83-86(I believe those are the years) Honda shadow vt500c would fit as well, but once again, due to my location, the closest one is 14 hours away. Now there are lots of other v-twin bikes up here. What else would fit? And in guessing I'd have to swap out the tranny as well.

I don't believe there are any bolt-in engines that will fit the frame other than an original Ascot V-twin or the Shadow V-twin.
