Title: tach replacement and ratio

I need a tachometer for my '82 Ascot FT500 and can't find any information on the correct ratio. I see 3 or 4 different ratios on advertised gauges but would like to know what the factory ratio was to get the most accurate readings.

Wondering the same thing ... my tachometer squeals loud like a loose belt.

Anyone know if round tachometers from other hondas will work?  There are some cheap ones on eBay off CB750s, etc.

Answered my own question ... looks like SOHC CB750s are 4:1
