Title: Anyone Running An Auxiliary Oil Cooler?
Post by: J6G1Z on August 20, 2013, 03:49:29 pm
I'm seeking information on running an Auxiliary Oil Cooler.

Does anyone here have an Oil Cooler on their FT500, or another bike that is comparable?

Who is the manufacturer & what model are you using? How & where did you tap into the engine for the oil lines?

I think that Lockhart used to offer a cooler for the FT500, but that was a long time ago. I'm also thinking of maybe trying to adapt a Honda XR400 oil cooler. They look nice & compact. I know that it won't fit on the steering neck like on the XR, but maybe it could be fit to the frame down-tube below the lower triple clamp.

Any information at all will be greatly appreciated.

Below are a couple of pics of an XR400 Oil Cooler.

Thank you
