Title: My low budget scrambler
Post by: Carl on December 06, 2015, 01:25:49 pm
Hi,
here is my FT500. Got it quite cheap from e-bay 1 year ago. Was in poor condition, not running, without documents. Has not been driven for 15 years or so. Got it back to road after some work. Exchanged all parts which i did't like by old parts I still had in my garage from other projects. Mostly old parts were used for the revitilization (except tires).
The bike is running well now. I like it specially on our narrow winding roads. That's more fun than with some heavier bike.

Good one Carl, have fun with that, I have something similar and have had a great time for the last yr ripping up fire trails and spiting out dirt where ever I can find it.
Only weakness, has been the limited tire choices, heavy wheels in dirty turns & replaced fork seals 3x  :) all good

Good looking FT, I like your front fender, lowered round headlight & removal of the  cowling that was attached to the seat.
What guages are you running? The look pretty cool from what I can see of them

@Lefty: Rev Counter is from an old Kawasaki KZ 440, Mini-speedo is a Moto Detail from Louis (K=1).
Both fit to stock cables.

That's very pretty indeed, without being too far from stock. Nice job!
