Post by: troy_mclure on June 04, 2014, 10:17:31 pm
my starter solenoid is making a buzzing sound, and my sparkplug(new and old) will zap me but make no start.

will getting a new solenoid fix the weak spark as well?

and any replacements available or am i just stuck hoping i get a working one from ebay?

Troy,

What is the quality of the battery? Is it fairly new? Does it hold a full charge?

Have you seen the "FILE" section on the Yahoo FT Ascot Users Group about servicing the Starter Solenoid?
https://groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/honda-ascot/files/Starter%20Issues/
Sometimes these files will not open unless you right click on them & select "open" from the drop down menu.

Without further information, that's where I would start.

Good luck
J.

PS. A new solenoid shouldn't affect the spark strength. Sometimes the spark is hard to see unless it's dark. Can you hear the spark snap?

no snap to the spark, and it wont light starter fluid.

the battery is new and full charge.
