Check out the web site first to minimize sticker shock. :) But currently, anywhere from $600 for a Mini to 4k for a PowerMac.

If I was prepared to spend about $1k +/- could I purchase a nice lap-top & which model would I be looking at? Should I plan to spend more?

Do lap-tops still have CD drives any longer? I'd like to watch a movie on it if I had to fly somewhere. Other than that, I have no clue what other features that I need or want. I don't play any games. Just I'net surfing & watching a flick, etc.
