Throttle cables
J6G1Z:
I'm not sure what to tell you, as I can't see what's going on.
You are going to have to find where the electrical contact is taking place & insulate that area.

There is a small screw/bolt on the back of the horn and it is touching this. Although I can do most things ,sorting out wiring isn't one of them. At least it was easy to find where the problem lies

I finally managed to sort this problem out . The starter relay was the problem In the end . When I pulled on the choke the mechanism on carb end was touching the live side straight of the battery . Making the whole carb live and the cable was finding a ground On the back of the horn.
I've out a new relay I got of eBay and it's smaller and is mounted with the terminals facing forward. Bike runs fine now. No more melted cables.

Good job! What an odd electrical problem to have. That one would be difficult to trouble shoot.
